In late 2013, the sheep barn on the Spicy Lamb Farm in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park burned to the ground. The old barn had been used raise sheep for wool and slaughter. The replacement barn had to accomplish several things: First, it had to function as a shelter to about 40 sheep with three horse stalls, a tac room, a feed room and a small retail facility. Second, and most important, the new structure had to meet the aesthetic and functional standards of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. For this reason, it was determined that the new barn be of heavy timber construction. Abe Troyer\u2019s Amish timber frame crew was selected to fabricate and erect the white oak frame and siding.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
